AMATEUR CONCERT PHOTOGRAPHY HOUR: CLUTCH @ Rebel, October 23, 2018
This was the first concert I’ve been to post-legalization, so it was only fitting that Clutch opened their set with “The Mob Goes Wild”

Monster Magnet kicked off their North American tour last night with a long-awaited Toronto date — I’m not sure they’ve been to Hogtown since I moved here in ’05.
Quick question: When was the last time Wino played Toronto?
Tribulation is a Swedish dark metal quartet with four albums under its belt…but I hadn’t heard of them until very recently. I guess it shows how allergic to corpse paint I am.
On a hot September’s night, Swedish doomsters Monolord made their second Toronto appearance to a sizeable, sweaty crowd at The Garrison…
Black Tusk and Whores brought the energy up from Georgia to put a heavy end to the start of the week–with a solid supporting act straight outta Quebec!
It’s nice to see a bill where all the bands are complementary, but not identical–three different shades of doom metal were on display last night.
Man, this was the fifth time I’ve seen Sleep since 2010…and the first time they played any new material.
Yob’s latest album, Our Raw Heart, is a comparatively lighter, more melodic effort–but that doesn’t make it any less crushing live.
You probably know me as a doom metal guy, but both of these bands are guilty pleasures for me.
