C’mon, it’s 2012. Do we really need a new KISS album?
I’ll admit that when I was 10, KISS was one of my favourite bands. Hey, it’s hard for an impressionable young child not to be lured in by The Hottest Band in the LandTM, what with their makeup, costumes and family-friendly lyrical content. But after I saw the Alive 35 tour a couple years back,…

Pill-poppers and head-trippers, put this one on yer neon-green radar screen!
As I’ve previously remarked, The 460 might not be El Mocambo, but it’s the next-door thing. This evening, the hole-in-the-wall bar is hosting a couple instrumental psychedelic-rock outfits that’ll expand yer mind–and they’re both from right here in yer backyard!

Way to kill the buzz for your acoustic tour, Wino!
I first heard about Wino doing an August acoustic tour at least a couple months ago; twas announced well in advance. Turns out this tour, which kicks off tonite in Seaside, CA, hits Cleveland on a Saturday nite, and even has a Buffalo date(!), albeit he won’t be crossing the border. I haven’t been the…

Maiden pulls out all the stops to make Seventh Son number one!
Truth be told, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son isn’t my favourite Iron Maiden album, by any stretch. More synth-heavy and progressive-sounding than their previous releases, even singles such as “Can I Play With Madness” or “The Evil That Men Do” fall flat compared to the likes of “2 Minutes to Midnight” and “The Trooper.”…
