You keep asking when it’s coming back, so here it is. Here is what the staff of Hellbound.ca has been enjoying during the months of July and August 2013.
Things are a little quiet this week at Hellbound, as a bunch of us are away in Baltimore, MD at Maryland Deathfest. So, since we are away, here is a reprint of a story I did on one of this year’s headliners, DOWN, for their second album back in 2002.
A hard act to follow, but Terror is an intimidating live act regardless of how someone feels about their music. Frontman Scott Vogel, formerly of the legendary, now-defunct Buried Alive, was in fine more, ruling the crowd that already paid him the blind-eyed devotion that a preacher at church might receive.
Make no mistake, this is not a metal album, this is early, dirty underground hardcore for folks who loved it and miss it, and a lesson for those who have no idea what hardcore is but are open minded enough to check it out. Start here then, go find the bands that influenced Arson Anthem you won’t be disappointed.
