FOR THE LOVE OF METAL
Late last year Jason Wellwood had the chance to speak to the one and only John Arch, the original vocalist for US progressive metal legends Fates Warning about his recent Sympathetic Resonance collaborative album with FW guitarist Jim Matheos under the name Arch/Matheos. Here is their chat, originally broadcast on Jason’s radio program Witchfinder Radio on CILU in Thunder Bay, Ontario, in its entirety.
Since Hellbound.ca is a Canadian-owned and operated metal publication, we do things a little bit different than most. World War Live: Battle of the Baltic Sea is both a good stopgap between albums and a pacifier for those wanting to know what all the fuss is about live.

At just under half an hour, This Machine Is Driving is almost not enough but at the same time it’s the perfect length. It makes you want to leave it on repeat, though continued listening may force you in to the shower several times a day.
Even if you already own one or two of the DVD’s in the set, this is a worthwhile trade up. If you’ve fallen behind this year and haven’t picked up any of the DVD’s then get out and grab this set! (And, of course, ‘tis the season so it makes a swell gift idea too!)

Scythia have outdone themselves on this record. One listen to it with your headphones on and you’ll be humming the oboe parts to ‘For The King’ and quite possibly singing it over a pint of mead down at ‘Hobarth’s Inn’. …Of Exile is a fun, rollicking ride and I suggest you strap on your leather armour and your bastard sword put on this album and lose yourself in adventur
