Corrosion of Conformity

Adrenechrome – Hideous Appetites

Hellbound Metal: As a young band Adrenechrome may just be starting to nail down exactly what they want to be. Hideous Appetites is a good start. With chops to spare (Mike Van Dyk is one sick bassist.) and a good grasp on hooks, they are pretty close.

Barge To Hell Cruise Recap Part 1

Last week the inaugural BARGE TO HELL cruise sailed from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas and back and featured live performances by forty-two death, thrash and black metalbands. Corrosion of Conformity

In Conversation With…. Mike Dean of Corrosion Of Conformity

“Prior to Corrosion of Conformity embarking on a North American tour, on which the Kingston, Ontario date had just been canceled (re-booked for Barrie), I had the chance to have a conversation with bassist/vocalist Mike Dean. We discussed this year’s self-titled release, influences old and new, touring in Canada, and even the NHL lockout.”

When they did the first edition of this event, a fundraiser for local college radio station CKCU, I remember thinking, “Damn, that’s a great lineup!” Featuring four of Southern Ontario’s finest–Electric Magma, Gypsy Chief Goliath, Blood Ceremony and Sons of OTIS–there was really no reason that show couldn’t have happened in Toronto, cept nobody had the initiative to book it. But when I saw the bill for the sequel this year… Well, let’s just say the organizers are kicking it up a notch, and I definitely plan on heading up to the nation’s capital for this one.

We had a nice chat while he walked his dogs, chatting about making the new album, how the band got together again as a trio and about being a metal musician for thirty years.
