Cauldron

Cauldron/ Diemonds/ Flying Fortress/ Tiger Star @ Sneaky Dee’s, Toronto ON, February 11th 2011

“By the time they began their set, shortly after midnight, Dee’s was as packed as I have ever seen it. More than one of my fellow-concert goes expressed concern that the floor might collapse due to the size and ferocity of the stomping, screaming, appreciative crowd.”

Natalie Zed reviews the February 11th hometown album release party for CAULDRON at Toronto’s Sneaky Dee’s.

Pounding Metal: Cauldron Seeks Burning Fortune

“We’re real life. We are just fans of heavy metal that care more about the music we’re fond of than anything else. Times, change, dates (can) fuck off. In regards to the album overall, we just had more time to write this one, demo it, rehearse it as a band and to record it. All that combined with knowing what you’re going for really makes a difference.”

On the eve of the release of their sophomore album Burning Fortune, Keith Carman interviews Jay Decay of Toronto metal trio CAULDRON.

Razor still cuts deep!

Anvil mighta been Canada’s first thrash band, but Razor’s perhaps our most caustic. After all these years, Razor still cuts deep. And it goes without saying that I’m looking forward to their gig next Friday at El Mocambo, a venue quite dear to my heart…

Raven / Cauldron / Skullfist @ The Wreckroom, Toronto ON, September 16th, 2010

“Raven stormed the stage last, serving as both main course and dessert for this particular metal buffet. It was fascinating to watch this legendary NWOBHM band perform after Cauldron and Skullfist had already worked the audience over. The only word to appropriately describe the experience is “educational.” This is the aesthetic that the younger bands are going for; this is the original template they’re paying homage to.”

VIDEO INTERVIEW: Cauldron at Hellbound Radio (Part 1)

On Sunday, February 28th, Hellbound Radio was delighted to have some special guests in the studio. Jason Decay and Ian Chains make up two-thirds of Toronto metal trio Cauldron and they made the trip down the QEW to Hamilton and hung with us in the INDI 101 studios, so we in turn dedicated a huge chunk of the three hour show to their band.

CAULDRON Invade Hellbound Radio This Sunday!

It’s special guest time again this weekend on Hellbound Radio! This Sunday night we will be joined in the INDI 101 studios by Toronto heavy metal trio CAULDRON to talk about the band, their debut album Chained To The Nite and metal in general. We’ll be spinning music from CAULDRON and have also asked them to bring in some of their own favourite CDs to spin on the show.

HELLBOUND’s TOP 10 CANADIAN METAL ALBUMS OF 2009

Since Hellbound.ca is a Canadian-owned and operated metal publication, we thought we’d do things a little differently than most. As 2009 quickly is coming to a close, we asked all of our contributors to pick their Top 5 Canadian metal albums of the year. We then tabulated up their responses and have created our first annual Top 10 Canadian Metal Albums of 2009 writers poll.

Cauldron: Chained to the Nite

Having grown up on metal in Canada during the 1980s, the first thought that springs to mind upon hearing the debut album by Toronto trio Cauldron is, why in the hell couldn’t these guys have been around 24, 25 years ago?
