Being that this was an independently-issued release outta New Zealand, of all places, I must admit I missed Beastwars’ debut the first time around….
Well holy shit, it’s a Hellbound Radio playlist! Well, there actually hasn’t been a playlist for a while, as it has been nearly a month since we have done the show live. Never fear however, faithful listeners/followers, for Hellbound Radio returned on Sunday night with a show jam packed full of new releases.
If you’ve not dabbled in the world of New Zealand metal before, Beastwars could be the perfect gateway band for you, especially if you like things grubby. The debut isn’t as technical as Ulcerate, as malevolent as Witchrist or as claustrophobic as Diocletian (bands that you should definitely listen to) but Beastwars hums with enough psychedelic escapism and irreverence to make it a good place to begin
