Here is a three track demo release from Toronto’s FATALITY, a thrash metal band with plenty of aggressive, melodic technical hooks, blasting beats and soaring roaring vocals, complete with fast, intricate solos.
Attomica is a remarkable thrash metal Brazilian band that has never been discovered up here in North America and sadly never had a real good chance for success on the international stage. I would like to shine the spotlight on this fine thrash metal band from Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil today. Here are my thoughts on their discography.
If you live in Toronto, and listen to any kind of rock music, chances are you’ve at least heard of the 3Tards. The ‘Tards are a local punk rock institution, gaining notoriety over the past eight years for (among other things) conducting an on-stage marriage ceremony between their bass player and singer–who are both guys–and holding up a “You Still Suck” sign at a Sex Pistols concert that made Johnny Rotten walk off the stage in anger. They’ve opened for the Misfits, Dayglo Abortions, Forgotten Rebels, SNFU and DOA, and are proud of the fact that NOW Magazine called them “stage diving idiots with absolutely nothing of consequence to say.” But on July 18th, they called it a day.

I have it on good authority that doom metal legend Wino will be touring with Clutch in September, hitting London, Ontario on the 15th…
For Lies I Sire is the latest release by UK doom stalwarts My Dying Bride. It is the newest offering to feature Aaron Stainthorpe’s romantic dark vocals.
Bison BC, or simply “Bison” as they’re known round these parts, has become a live institution in Western Canada over the last year and a half, and the nice turnout on this Tuesday night reflected the band’s steadily growing grassroots fan base. Theirs is an easy sound to like, and one that translates exceptionally well to live settings, especially smaller venues
