BLOG: Adam Wills: The Right Music For The Right Time

Music and atmosphere. A lot of the time, these go hand in hand, musically. But what about the listening environment? Listen to an album in one setting, and you may not think much of it. Listen to that same album in the right setting, and all of a sudden, things seem to make sense. Perhaps you were listening on an ipod in a busy subway station, and the subtleties of the album were drowned out over the hustle of the city – or maybe you were just preoccupied by surfing online, with music on as background noise, and not something to be fully taken in.

Here’s what the gang played on Hellbound Radio on Sunday night. All three were in attendance, as this was Kevin’s last show before heading to Florida for vacation (have fun dude!). Sean drove Kevin crazy playing not one but two ANVIL songs, and also ended the show with a full 19-minute DREAM THEATER track.

Jon, Travis and Adam from THREAT SIGNAL dropped by to spin some tracks from their upcoming new album Vigilance, which will be released by Nuclear Blast on September 8th. ALICE COOPER & BLUE OYSTER CULT fans in Ontario unite! BLUE COUPE returns!

Two of the most important American bands of the early seventies were ALICE COOPER and BLUE OYSTER CULT. Both bands had a string of successful studio albums, sell-out tours and even hit singles on the radio. Some of the key members of the original versions of both these bands have joined force in a new live band called BLUE COUPE, who are playing some shows in Southern Ontario this week

Michael Moynihan and Didrik Soderlind’s book is probably the most notable of it’s kind, offering much insight to the life and crimes of our favourite black metal artists.
