Weedeater – Goliathan
I love seeing Weedeater live, but I wasn’t really a fan of their last album, which came out back in 2011. There were a couple too many goofy tracks on Jason… the Dragon, and other songs weren’t very long or particularly memorable. Put it this way, it was no God Luck and Good Speed. But…

AMATEUR CONCERT PHOTOGRAPHY HOUR: Ufomammut/Sons of OTIS/Usnea @ Mod Club, May 16, 2015
Though they’re hardly a household name around here, I’d hafta say Ufomammut drew a pretty decent crowd to the Mod Club last night. Personally, I had been looking forward to seeing them for quite some time, and they really did deliver–visually as well as musically.

Ufomammut – Ecate
I’ve been a big Ufomammut fan, ever since the release of their 2010 album, Eve. Their earlier work was much harder to find on these shores, but I’m super-stoked to be seeing them at the Mod Club in May. That said, their most recent recent slipped under my radar for a couple months. Hmm… Ecate opens…

Palace in Thunderland – In the Afterglow of Unity
This on-again, off-again Boston band featuring former members of Black Pyramid and Blue Aside is back on with their second album in the past two years. Though not quite as extended as its predecessor, the nearly-90-minute Apostles of Silence, we still get a solid hour’s worth of spacey prog doom here from Palace in Thunderland.…
