The Hellbound Interview: Sam Dunn & Scot McFadyen of Banger Films

“Beyond The Lighted Stage was actually shot over quite a long period. The first work on the film goes back to October 2007. We were working on it and then while we were into it, we got the go ahead from Iron Maiden to film Flight 666. So, we had to go to Rush and their management and make sure that it was okay to put the filming on hold, which they agreed to.

We started again doing things after Flight 666 was finished and we worked right up until this year. The last interview for the film was completed in early 2010, so it was more than two-and-a-half years work, on and off, on the film.”

Advance Screening: Disgorge, Mexico – The Movie

I could simply describe Disgorge, Mexico – The Movie as visually stunning yet disturbing, as Hall definitely has an aesthetic and a well-formed point of view that matches the brutality and not-to-be dismissed splendor in the chaotic madness of Ottawa’s Fuck the Facts – and brilliant in not only the fact that similar to Hall and Cardoso’s previous film (based on Today is the Day’s Axis to Eden), it is clearly obvious that Hall knows the music and its nuances inside and out.

Laina Dawes sits down for an advance screening of Disgorge, Mexico – The Film, the upcoming new film by Handshake Inc. that is based on the Fuck the Facts album of the same name.

Interview with Metal Film and Music Video Director, Handshake Inc.’s David Hall

The decision to create film and music videos for extreme underground metal bands was not exactly a conscious decision, but something that came to Hall organically. A fascination with the music, artistic innovativeness and raw talent (and the balls to contact and eventually build a professional and personal relationship with Today is the Day’s notoriously difficult frontman, Steve Austin) led Hall and Handshake Inc. co-founder, filmmaker/ photographer David Cardoso, to create a company that in a relatively short time, has made some of the most innovative metal music videos and films the metal industry has seen in years.

Blasphemy Blog #1: Lords Of Chaos – Yay Or Nay?

There has been much controversy and mixed opinions surrounding Lords of Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground since its 1998 release. Michael Moynihan and Didrik Soderlind’s book is probably the most notable of it’s kind, offering much insight to the life and crimes of our favourite black metal artists.

Lords of Chaos: a story involving the TNBM scene, with actors retelling the intriguing, but violent tales of music, murder and arson. Will it shock or compel?

Auf der Maur appeared as a special guest at the 67th World Science Fiction Convention, held in Montreal this past weekend, where she was promoting her new multimedia project, Out of Our Minds.
