If you’ve been to a metal show in Toronto at anytime in the past 20 years, chances are you know or have seen Joe. None of us from Hellbound.ca know Joe personally, but we have been seeing him at shows since Sepultura in 1991. He has a fierce admiration for metal and, although he doesn’t have a computer, we asked him if we could take some pictures with him at Friday night’s Obituary show in Toronto to post on Hellbound.ca and he said sure. Albert snapped some shots of Joe with Rob Kachluba, Blitz and I and also got another shot of him at Stryper on Sunday night too.

Ladies and gentleman, Joe, a true Toronto scene supporter!

Progressive Nation tour @ Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto ON, August 14, 2009

This past Friday marked the Toronto stop of this year’s Progressive Nation tour, the now-annual summer festival curated by and starring Dream Theater as headliners – basically their chance to take out some of their favourite bands on tour with them across North America playing outdoor amphitheaters.

Sean Palmerston reviews the recent Toronto stop of this year’s traveling Progressive Nation festival.

Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction @ Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto ON, June 2, 2009

Fans gathered en masse at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre looking for a bit of nostalgia. Some were there to relive Perry Farrell’s early 90’s Lollapalooza tour. Others who weren’t even born at the time were there to find out what they missed. There were definite highlights to this performance but this tour, as almost all other of the nostalgia tours didn’t quite live up to the days of old.
